Useful info

Equipment provided?

No special equipment required.

What do I need to wear?

Passengers should wear outdoor rambling type clothing and sturdy footwear. The temperature aloft is similar to that on the ground but without any windchill as the balloon flies with the wind.

What do I need to bring?

No special equipment is needed but passengers might like to bring a camera or small video camera provided it has a soft protective case.

When can I do it?

Flights are scheduled daily, mornings and evenings between mid-March and late October. Passengers are asked to call in a few hours before the meeting time to check on whether the flight is likely to go ahead or not. On average, it takes 3 or 4 attempts before getting aloft.

Is there a pub nearby?

There is a pub adjacent to the meeting point for the Lothian flights and a service station for the Kinrosshire flights.
