Ranger-guided walking for all levels of ability, exploring different facets and parts of the Cairngorms. From family fun to classic mountain walks, experience the mountains at your own pace. We offer a programme of regular ranger-guided walks in conjunction with the Cairngorm Ranger Service including a weekly summit walk plus some one-off night walks. Also an easy 2-hour guided downhill walk suitable for families along the Allt Mor trail (returning by bus) and treasure hunting for kids using GPS. All walking activities start at the ranger base in the car park at Coire Cas.
What we do best:
Full Day Walks - four different routes usually taking in one or more Munro summits such as Cairn Gorm and Ben Macdui. Strenuous walks requiring full mountain kit and a packed lunch. Booking essential.Half Day Walks- five different routes some including the summit of Cairn Gorm, others exploring less well known parts of the Cairngorms. Moderately strenuous and requiring walking boots.
Allt Mor Trail - two hour moderate downhill walk from high moorland through Caledonian pine forest returning by bus (inc.) A chance to see reindeer, grouse, meadow pipit and maybe capercaillie
Treasure Hunts - 'geocaching' using one of our own GPS (Global Positioning Systems) to hunt for treasure on or own network within a few hundred metres of the car park at CairnGorm
Meteorite Walk - unique opportunity to see spectacular meteor showers free from light pollution (weather permitting)
Harvest Moon walk - Mountain walk by the light of the moon. Gaze at the stars from a unique mountain vantage point.
