What we do best:
Introduction to open canoeing courses from 1-3 days either on one of many inspirational courses. Or come with a group of friends to suit your own availability dates, the group¿s aspirations, needs & budget. At the end of a few days¿ canoeing at this level you should be able to independently take part in a short open canoe journey on easy water. Not only will you learn traditional paddling skills but how to tilt, trim and balance, pole, line and tow. No previous experience is required; you should be reasonably fit and happy to spend a full day in the outdoors.River Runners. Improver and intermediate open canoe skills, an ideal progression for those who have mastered the basic skills and paddling of open canoeing. An introduction to travelling and moving water in an open canoe on local rivers grade 1-3 over 2-5 days.
Open canoe tours and white water river day tours 1 day tours on local lochs & rivers (Grade 2-3). A really brilliant confidence builder for those who have paddled open canoes before who want to take things a bit further perhaps on some local white water or take the opportunity to get out into the wilds for the day.
Wild Rover Tours & Journeys An ideal introduction to the ethos of the traditional use of open canoes for travelling, trading & journeying in wilderness locations - mainly unsupported and self propelled. Most importantly this is an opportunity to learn the skills of outdoor living and enjoy the wide & varied remote wilderness areas, which may only be reached by open canoe. We also offer an open canoe guiding service to those who are unfamiliar with the area. We can offer as an itinerary the Rough Bounds over 3-5 days (Loch Sheil from Glenfinnan, down River Sheil to Loch Moidart, paddle out to sea via the North Channel, round into Loch Ailort via Glen Uig, alternatively continue into Arisaig via the Singing Sands or Morar) or Paddle the historic Caledonian Canal for over 70 miles over 3-5 days from Fort William to Inverness.
Canoe Sailing Sessions A really exciting way to travel! Some of our open canoes are fitted with sailing rigs. We offer 1 or 2 day sessions to get you up to speed on this - learn the skills and practice on Day 1. Venture out on a longer day tour on day 2. These sessions are better suited to folks who do already have at least some open canoeing experience
Outdoor discovery and explorer programs and camps for clubs, groups, schools, community groups and colleges. 3 - 8 days. Specially designed paddlesports exploration & development skills programs which focus on learning how to live often in remote or wilderness locations, sometimes unsupported and mainly self propelled.
